Hey Beaut,

Thanks so much for being here. I wanted to share a bit more about my journey, hoping you find a piece of your story within mine.

After my mum died in 2013, I found myself navigating a world without her steady guidance. Amidst the grief, I didn't realise that I was slowly losing myself to weight gain. It was a gradual process, almost unnoticeable until I hit just shy of 22 stone in 2021.

I was a new mum and had become a stranger in my own body, and the journey back to myself was fraught with challenges.

I went back to the diets I had previously tried, failed them - again. It got to summer 2021 and covid restrictions had eased enough that we could finally have our first family holiday, so I decided to try and lose a stone to go away. I had seen one of my best friend transform using a meal replacement diet, which I had also tried many many years before.

I had dismissed it because I didn't want to cut out food, especially with an impressionable toddler who I am a role model for.

After looking into it more, I decided to take the plunge and do it for 3 weeks, but only as I decided to incorporate normal food at the same time. And this is what ignited my love of calorie counting, and the years of unsuccessful dieting finally made sense.

Needless to say, I lost a stone in 3 weeks, our holiday got cancelled, due to, you guessed it, covid!

But I had enjoyed the challenge of learning what calories actually consist of, so I continued. I continued to try to find the "naughtiest" recipes I could think of and make them as low calorie as possible without compromising on flavour.

Fast forward to April 2022, and I had lost 8.7 stone, that’s 120lbs.

I had never felt more alive! Fit, able, agile, I was wearing what I wanted, I had accepted a job in London which meant I had to start getting the train and commuting, that NEVER would have even been a consideration when I was over weight. I was enjoying food, and balance and having the energy to keep up with my ever energetic son.

November 2022, I found out I was pregnant with our second son.

Pregnancy doesn't agree with me, and despite being so much lighter, I was struck down with pelvic girdle pain, which was quickly followed by a heart arrythmia, which meant that I couldn't walk to the other side of the house without my HR jumping to 180, and at rest being at 32 bpm.

By the time my son was born, I had gained 5 stone. However, the difference this time, was that I wasn't overwhelmed or afraid of weight gain or how to lose it, I had my toolkit and knowledge to be able to get the weight off when I was ready.  Fast forward to April 2022, and I had lost 8.7 stone, that’s 120lbs.  With the right tools and support, you can rewrite your story.
